Oceanside Rotarians Support Solutions for Change with a Surprise Dinner
Oceanside Rotarians recently had the opportunity to put Service Above Self into action by providing a surprise In-N-Out dinner for 20 participants at Solutions for Change in Vista. Rotarians delivered burgers, fries, and milkshakes and spent time learning more about the organization and the families it serves.
Solutions for Change is a North County nonprofit whose mission is to solve family homelessness—one family, one community at a time. Founded in 1999, the organization goes beyond providing temporary housing by helping families address the underlying causes of homelessness and build a path toward lasting independence.
Through programs that combine housing, education, workforce development, personal development, and support for families, Solutions for Change equips parents with the skills and resources they need to secure employment, achieve financial stability, strengthen their families, and create a more secure future for their children. Over the years, the organization has provided transformational services to more than 4,700 parents and children.
For the Oceanside Rotary Club, the evening was about more than providing dinner. It was an opportunity to learn firsthand about the important work being done at Solutions for Change and to explore ways our club may continue supporting its mission through future service opportunities.
Sometimes service begins with something as simple as a burger, fries, a milkshake, and a willingness to show up.
